How do I get Jev access?

As of 8 Oct 2026 signups are open and new accounts get no free credits. You can get a key from the TypeSafe console, or reach Jev with a key you already have through one of the gateways below. Some of those gateways need no TypeSafe account at all.

In short

  • Signups reopened on 27 Sep 2026 after a five-day pause.
  • Keys are at console.typesafe.ai/keys; the Playground needs no code.
  • OpenRouter, Vercel, Cloudflare, Netlify and Pydantic bill through their own accounts.
  • Every route serves the same Jev 1.13 at $0.042 per million input tokens, with output free. /jev-pricing.

The TypeSafe console: keys and the Playground

Playground: console.typesafe.ai/playground. Log in, paste a state, add questions; no code needed.

Keys: console.typesafe.ai/keys. Send the key as an Authorization: Bearer header. The SDKs read TYPESAFE_API_KEY. Source: TypeSafe quickstart.

Keep the key on the server. The JS SDK refuses to run in a browser unless you set dangerouslyAllowBrowser, and doing that exposes the key. Source: TypeSafeClientConfig.

Note: Searches for “jev console” also turn up an unrelated build called jev-design. The official console is console.typesafe.ai.

Additional notes:

  • OpenRouter: Endpoints are POST https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/systemone (TypeSafe SDK with base URL https://openrouter.ai/api), or /api/alpha/decisions. OpenRouter states: “You don't need a separate signup, a waitlist, or a TypeSafe account.”
  • Cloudflare: Listed at $0.042/M input, $0 output, with zero data retention.
  • Netlify: No key needed: Netlify injects TYPESAFE_API_KEY and TYPESAFE_BASE_URL on credit-based plans. Billed in Netlify credits.
  • LiteLLM: Your TypeSafe key goes on the proxy; clients use a LiteLLM virtual key. Path: /typesafe/v1/systemone. Since v1.103.0-rc.
  • n8n: TypeSafe's own community node @typesafe-ai/n8n-nodes-typesafe-ai (MIT, v0.9.0, 29 Sep, tested with n8n 2.40). Uses a TypeSafe key. Note: the unscoped package n8n-nodes-typesafe-ai is a different, third-party package.

Cloudflare, OpenRouter and Vercel list 32,000-token context. TypeSafe's own limit is 64k per request, of which 32k is state plus the longest question. Source: TypeSafe models.

401Bad or missing key
422Invalid request
429Over the limit. Current limits are 100K tokens/s and 80 requests/s, and TypeSafe adjusts them dynamically.

The SDKs retry 429 and 529 with backoff.

OpenRouter

@OpenRouter

Jev by @typesafeai is now on OpenRouter, in beta. Jev is a System One model. Instead of generating text, it takes your app's state plus a typed question and returns a typed decision with a probability attached. There is no JSON prompting, parsing layer, and nothing to validate against.

Common questions

Are Jev signups open?
Yes, as of 8 Oct 2026. TypeSafe reopened them on 27 Sep 2026 after pausing on 22 Sep.
Does a new account get free credits?
No. TypeSafe stopped free credits for new signups on 27 Sep and says it hopes to bring them back.
Where do I get a Jev API key?
At console.typesafe.ai/keys, after signing in.
Can I use Jev without a TypeSafe account?
Yes: through OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway, Cloudflare, Netlify or Pydantic AI Gateway, using that provider's key and billing. OpenRouter states that no TypeSafe account is needed.
Is there a Jev waitlist?
Not since 20 Sep 2026.
Is Jev cheaper through a gateway?
No. The listed price is the same $0.042/M input with $0 output on Vercel and Cloudflare, and Vercel says it adds no markup. More at /jev-pricing.
