Made with Jev

Is your meta description good?

Yes if it fits, matches the query and gives a reason to click. Paste your title and description. The width is measured as you type, and Jev judges whether a searcher would pick it.

Free, 5 checks a day. Nothing is saved. The width is measured here, as you type.

What the meta title and description checker measures

Some checks are plain measurement, done in your browser and on the server with no model: the pixel width of the title and the description against Google’s cut-off, empty or identical fields, whether your target query’s words appear, stock phrases like “click here”, and words in all caps. Each measured problem names exactly what it found.

What Jev judges about your meta description

The rest is judgment, so Jev answers it as yes/no questions with a probability each, in one call: is the title generic, is the description vague, does it repeat the title, is there a reason to click, is it keyword-stuffed, and, if you gave a query, does it match what the searcher wants. A judged problem shows its probability so you can see how sure it is.

Meta description checker questions

Is my meta description good?
A good one fits the width Google shows, uses the searcher's query once, says something concrete about the page, and gives a reason to choose it over the other results. The checker measures the first two and asks Jev about the last two.
How long should a meta description be?
Google cuts by pixels, not characters. On desktop it shows about 920px of description and about 580px of title. That is roughly 155 to 160 characters and 55 to 60, but wide letters like W and M use up more room, so the checker measures the width.
Does Google always use my meta description?
No. Google often rewrites the snippet to match the query. A good description still matters: it is what Google shows when it fits, and it is the cleanest statement of what the page offers.
How accurate is the pixel width?
Close, not exact. It uses Arial's letter widths, and Google shows Arial or Roboto, so expect a few pixels either way. Treat a title within about 20px of the limit as at risk.
What does the click appeal score mean?
It is Jev's probability that a searcher would pick this result over the others for the query, from the title and description alone. Each measured problem, like a title that is too long, takes a little off. It is a judgment, not a ranking prediction.
Is my text saved?
No. It is sent to the model once to be judged and is not stored.
Why only 5 checks a day?
Each judgment is a model call that costs real money. The limit keeps the tool free for everyone.
